Aspen Care is HIRING! We are hiring two positions this summer. We are looking for a Bookkeeper and a Marketing Assistant. If you are a student and seeking a summer job, please apply. 1. Part-Time Bookkeeper

We are seeking a bookkeeper to assist our team part-time. Aspen Care Ltd. is a boutique home-care business located in Calgary. Aspen Care has branched out and created a new division called: My Health Journals. The Bookkeeper will help with various accounting and expense reporting tasks pertaining to Aspen Care Ltd.


As per COVID19 restrictions, we will be looking for someone who is willing to work from home, and willing to go into the community from time to time and meet with various stakeholders. We have safety measures and safety protocols in place for going to various locations.


The Role Will Entail:

- Full Cycle Accounting

- Bank Reconciliation 

- Expense Reporting

- Bookkeeping


Must Have:

- At least 1-2 years of bookkeeping experience

- Experience using accounting programs like Simply Accounting

- Is a recent graduate or in a bachelor/diploma program for accounting or other related fields

- A computer and good wifi at home


Experience using the following is an asset:

- Simply Accounting or similar accounting programs


Other Skills Required:

- Able to work from home well

- Strong communication skills

- Highly motivated and willing to take initiative

- Self-starter and able to work independently 

- Able to adjust errors, and able to make little to no mistakes

- Understands the ins and outs of accounting and bookkeeping

2. Marketing and Sales Assistant


We are seeking a Digital Marketing Assistant to support our Marketing Director and Executive Director. Aspen Care Ltd. is a boutique home-care business located in Calgary. Aspen Care has branched out and created a new business: My Health Journals. The Digital Marketing & Sales Assistant will help with various marketing and sales tasks pertaining to My Health Journals.


As per COVID19 restrictions, we will be looking for someone who is willing to work from home, and willing to go into the community from time to time and meet with various stakeholders. We have safety measures and safety protocols in place for going to various locations.


The Role Will Entail:

- Social Media Management: commenting, posting, scheduling, creating stories, videos, creating copy and engaging captions

- Support on Social Media Campaigns: able to collaborate and share campaign ideas

- Social Media Engagement: this will be a big part of the role, we need someone who is able to give a this a couple of hours of attention per day. Engage on social media with audiences, build following, answer questions, comment on stakeholders, partners etc. Be very active on all social media channels.

- Email Marketing: create and schedule email campaigns, coordinate and manage email lists and build email lists with various email marketing tactics

- Support on Sales Channels: Help support and setup various Sales channels and reach out to vendors across Canada including Amazon, Etsy, Indigo, Others (hospitals, gift shops, speciality shops, nursing homes)

- SEO support

- Community Outreach: Going into the community and meeting with various sales managers, and staff to implement the book into their stores. Becoming a brand ambassador for the books and engage professionally with clients and stakeholders.

- Packaging and Handling of Deliveries: sending off the journals in the mail and proper packaging. Delivering wholesale boxes of books to various vendors

- Podcast Support: help reach out to potential interviewees, create interview questions, and support the production of the podcast


Must Have:

- At least 1-2 years of marketing experience

- Is a recent graduate or in a bachelor/diploma program for marketing, communications, public relations, or other related fields

- A vehicle and drivers license

- A computer and good wifi at home


Experience using the following is an asset:

- Mailchimp

- Shopify

- Facebook and Instagram Ads

- Youtube

- Google Ads

- Basic Administration

- Latergram

- Photography editing and basic video editing skills = BONUS


Other Skills Required:

- Able to work from home well

- Strong communication skills

- Able to package and lift boxes

- Highly motivated and willing to take initiative

- Will enjoy working in the startup world, wearing various hats

- A team player
